A Bundle of Joy

Hi Everyone
A friend of mine is hosting a baby shower for her niece and we were talking about little party favors and decorations we could make.
Well I went to the trusty SCS site searched in the gallery for baby and ran across this fantastic baby carriage. I thought this was super cute and thought it would look great incorporated with the cake and snack table. To learn how to make this super simple carriage check out my Demo site for all the details and the link to the original designer Susie's site.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day.
PS...Don't forget tomorrow is a new release over at and that means I'll be giving away some blog candy!!

Ready for Summer Break

Hi Everyone
As the kids get out of school, the neighborhood will be filled with laughter and all those fun games kids like to play. I was thinking that this Tilda looked like she as taking a rest from all the playing. She's kind of got some crazy colored clothes on. Hmm...she must have dressed herself today. But have no fear she's still our angel Tilda. Her wings are glistening gold in the sun.
Have a great day everyone. The weekend is just around the corner.
Thanks for your visit.

We Found the Treasure

Hi Everyone

Ian was busy this weekend during the holiday break. He decided he would take out to the high seas, dust off his hat and see if he could find some treasure. Well he struck it right. While sailing off the coast of Africa Ian became ship wreaked on St. Helena Island. Once he was able to get to shore he realized that he was on this distant Island that had a lot of history.

St. Helena Island wasn't discovered until 1502. Ian was reading in the local library and discovered that the British government chose St. Helena Island as a detention place for Napoleon I of France. WOW...he must have been a not so nice guy to be sent to far way. But what an amazing Island that St. Helena is.

While Ian's ship was getting repaired he found some interesting facts about a Royal Mail Ship that has sunk a long time ago that was caring some gold coin cargo. He made his plan and set sail to find it.

Ian ran into a few of those bad pirate ships along the way but we was successful and found the gold. Looks like Ian will have some great stories to tell his grand kids some day.

So...In all seriousness....St. Helena Island really does exist. It's under the British leadership and is seriously FAR WAY! There is no airport on the island and you do have to sail to it either on your own boat or on the Royal Mail Ship (RMS) that doubles as a cargo ship and an A1 passenger ship. Amazing right. I think it would be so much fun to visit a place like this. But seriously the flight just to get to Cape Town in Africa and then a boat ride. Yeah....probably not going to be on the top of my list. :-)

If you want to check out this neat island check out this site.
For this card I've used a set called from . Make sure and check out the great samples of this set in .
Thanks for going to St. Helena Island with Ian.

Owl Be There

Hi Everyone
It's been a while since I stamped up the set from .
I thought it was time to get it out again and...well...I found some great paper at my LSS that was pink with cute glittery owls. Does it get any better than that?
I used the Mojo87 sketch but didn't get it posted but I thought I'd show it anyway.
I've used Pink Passion and Yo Yo Yellow card stock from ! I added a line of pearls and some dots with a Signo pen. The image is colored with Copic markers. The pink flower button I found at Joann's a month or so ago and I added a big pearl in the middle to try and tie in the bottom pearls and give the card some balance.
Have a great day and thanks so much for your visit.

Time to Set Sail

Hi Everyone
I'm crazy about this cute set called over at . It has been so fun creating cards with it.
For today I wanted to show you what I came up with for Pirate Anya. She reminds me of a cute little character from the Zelda DS game. For those of you who might have played this game do you remember the sassy girl that would jump on Links boat and have a sword battle with him? Well this Pirate Anya reminds me of that character....sassy and ready for battle.
I found this great paper from my LSS. I thought it would be perfect. I also wanted to use the scull and crossbones stamp as well so i tried to make them look a bit like coins. I used the gold glitter Gelly Roll pen. Not sure if that comes through or not.
She was fun to color up and put together. For the sketch I used the .
Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
Have a great day.

Welcome Wave

Hi Everyone

I was checking our Tracey's blog and noticed a super cute card that she made using a cute little girl waiving. It's from a company called . I'm really liking the stuff I've seen so far on their site. If you love creating cards with people you'll love these too I think.

I decided to use some bright colors for this card sketch. The cardstock is Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion from SU!. The background paper was a RAK from my friend Mandy. The flowers are from Bo Bunny as well as the jewels in the middle of the flowers. The pink pearls are Basic Grey and the ribbon is from Michaels. I think it turned out pretty cute. I love this stamp because it's easy to cut out pieces and layer them. I've cut her head and poped it up with some pop dots to add some dimension. I've also use that same technique with her dress but I decided to make her dress using some of the background paper. I've also used a boarder punch as well to add some additional texture.

Let me know what you think of it.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look.

Have a great day!

Soaky Sunday

Hi Everyone
Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend and able to honor those lost.
This card pretty much sums up the weekend we've been having here in MO. WET!
I used the stamp from along with the Urban background from Doodle Factory.
The Urban background took a while to color in but I was going for a muted effect which is way outside of my comfort zone. So I'm not quite sure I got that across or not.
Sweet little is definitely prepared for some wet weather.
Have a great day everyone.

New Adventure

Hi Everyone
A while ago I created a blog called Fun Paper Candy Demo's. The intent of that blog was to be able to have a separate place that I could put demo's and tutorials of 3-D project and a few techniques. I am always searching for new 3-D projects or new takes on the old ones but always finding that once I make something I can't ever find the original directions. So this blog was created to serve the purpose of always knowing where the directions are. Well....I'm happy to say that I finally got myself together and have the first project out there.
I will continue to periodically get the 3-D project currently on this blog posted to the new demo blog as well.
For the kick off I decided to do the Mini Drink Carrier that Denise did back in March. It is super cute. Check out how to make this cute Mini Drink Carrier .
I have it on my desk holding Stickles that I use most often. It's a cute little project.
Thanks for taking a look.

Late Night Munchies

Hi Everyone
I was working late today and the whole evening just flew by. Before I knew it I looked up at the clock in my art room and it was 1:15 a.m. Oh's going to be hard to get up in the morning I think.
I've got two special cards to share today.
The first card is super special because it's made using a wonderful RAK that
sent me.
The stamp which was included in the RAK if from Paper Makeup. Love it! I also used some super neat Stickles in green that were in the RAK and the background paper is also from Mandy's RAK. Isn't it so sweet? I just love making cards from stuff I've received in RAKs. It makes them that much more meaningful.
The second card is also special. Last week or so I was visiting the blog that my friend Julie has. She was giving sneak peaks of some new released stamps from Stamps and Smiles.
The owner of the company was giving away blog candy via feedback on Julie's blog. And I was randomly picked. How fun is that!
For the card I've not done anything fancy. The only thing that was a little special was that I used a black Glaze pen to color over the chocolate chips so they looked more real and like they just came out of the oven. The brads I found at my LSS.
I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!
Thanks for your visit.

Tempting Tuesday

Hi Everyone
It's tempting right to daydream a bit about the vacations we might have planned this summer. Be it skiing in the Swiss Alps or surfing in the Pacific it takes us away just for a bit from the everyday grind.
I've decided to go to Hawaii with my good friend to surf the shores of the Pacific and visit my blog friends from Hawaii. After that I'll jet of like the jet setter I am (as of late) to the Alps with my friend . On our way we will stop in the UK and visit some more blog friends.
I think that sounds like great fun do you?
For the Surfer Ian card I've used one of my favorite stamp lines for background and accessory stamps . Love these stamps. They work so well with my style and TGF stamps.
For the Rain, Snow, Shine card I've used some simple polka dot paper and added a bunch of layers and doodles. I accessories her with a glitter pen for the eye shadow and hair along with Stickles for her muff, boots, coat and scarf. I used a Signo pen for the doodling.
Thanks for your visit.
Have a great day!

Fun in the Sun

Hi Everyone
Hope you all are having a great Monday. I think it's time for some nice summer weather and our cute Shine girl is just in the mood.
This is a cute set from set. It's super cute and really fun to work with. I like that she's a tall skinny stamp.
For this card I got my inspiration from two places. First the color scheme. Check out this card Pam did I was so in love with those colors I wanted to give them a try. I've also used the Friday Sketchers blog and used the layout from . It was a lot of fun to follow.
I picked up the bubbles Cuttlebug folder this weekend as well. I think it looks great with this stamp as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!

Circus Circus

Hi Everyone
I have been dying to ink this stamp up for a few weeks now. Anya from . I fell in love with that chubby elephant when I saw this set.
I've use a sketch layout from . It was a fun sketch to work on. I usually stay in the lines but not for this card. I just put my main images where they looked best regardless of the different panels.
Thanks for taking a look.

Case of the Curious Card IV

Hi Everyone
Make sure and check out the great challenge over at today.
Marie is hosting another . I really liked this challenge because I didn't have to worry about cutting anything to an exact measurement.
I decided to use the Showtime stamp set from . I've also Incorporated some paper also from . I have a huge role of tickets that I used for another project and decided a few of them would be perfect as well. I also spied some K&Company adhesive chipboard at my LSS (local stamp store) and just add to add them to the card.

Hope everyone had a super great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

Just in Time for a Vacation

Hi Everyone
I've been so eager to show you this new stamp that will be released over at
tomorrow at 1:00 a.m. I hope you have had a chance to check out the sneak peeks of , and the new set .
I saw a few week ago and recently a stair step card over on Traci and Kadie's blogs. When I saw what they did it sparked a little idea in my head.
This card is made using the stair step style card. Check out a quick tutorial on Faith's blog .
This was super fun to make. I've cut a piece of SU! Close to Cocoa cards stock and added some sandpaper I had laying around in the garage to simulate sand. I then used the Tropical stamp set from The Doodle Factory. Finally I've use our super sweet Hula Anya. Can you hear the music from there? What about the smell of those sweet flowers. Ahh...I can feel the warm sand in my toes! Ok all my Hawaii out to the beach and put your feet in the sand for me. :-)
So...Don't forget about the blog candy I'll be giving away tomorrow.
See you then.

A Tuesday with Hope and Faith

Hi Everyone
I've been busy as you can see. Four post in one day. Sometime you just got a lot to say right?
I was cruising blogs last night and ran across a sketch over at .
Then I noticed the ever so talented Cindy Haffner created the.
I decided to use the stamp set from I've used some card stock from in Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango. I popped a prima on her head for good measure and put her on top of some background paper from SEI. This is one of my favorite sketches to date. I think it's just very straight forward but cutting the background paper into two panels I think adds some visual interest.
Have a great day everyone and don't forget about new Anya stamp release this Friday. There is a big Hula Party on Thursday night that you won't want to miss. Check out the blog for all the details.
See you there.
Stamps: The Greeting Farm - Hope and Grace
CardStock: Stampin' Up! - Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango. PTI - White
Background Paper: SEI

Get Well Wish from a Cuppy

Hi Everyone
There is a great sketch over at the blog that I though would be fun to participate in. I though this sketch was a great way to highlight some different but coordinating paper. It's a bit busy with the red and blue and the dots. If this doesn't stimulate someone getting well I don't know what will. :-)
For this card I've used the . Another cute set of Cuppys. This time they are spreading some Dr. Orders. Iv'e used some background paper I received from a RAK. The card stock is Riding Hood Red from Stampin' Up! and the white card stock if from PTI. Ribbon is from Michaels and the gems are from the dollar bin at Joanns. I've also used a white Signo pen for the white dots. I took my hand at coloring the background of the image with a Copic C1. It's an OK look I think but I'm definitely in need of a new C1. It looks a little spotty to me. Anyway..something else to put on the list. :-))
Thanks for stopping by.

A Thank you and an Award

Hi Everyone
I've got a big thank you to send out to my dear friend Liann over at .
Liann is such a huge encourager of my work...always sending me sweet comments and cute little RAKS. I'm so grateful to know such wonderful stamping ladies from all over the world. Liann is my go to girl for all things Japanese. Whenever I do a card in the style of the Harajuku girls of Japan...Liann always knows that's were I was going. For those not familiar you might recognize these girl as they were part of the singer Gwen Stefani's work a few years back. She had four Harajuku back up dancers. They were so cute.
I wanted to do a virtual thank you card...which will be a IRL thank you to Liann for being such a sweetheart.
For this card I've used one of the stamps from called . Isn't she the cutest. I've used the background paper from a company called G.C.D. It's the 12 x 12 paper stacked called Provence. I've also used Stampin' Up!'s Yo Yo Yello and Riding Hood Red card stock with some blue ribbon from Michaels. The punch is from the Martha Stewart line. The cute Thank You saying (XIE XIE) which is the most common way of saying Thank You in Mandarin is from the . I've not posted anything from this set or company yet but be on the look out.
So I started out with kind of a Japanese theme in mind but once I saw this background paper I had to go the whole Chinese route. It's much more Chinese with the yellows and reds.
Liann gave me this great award too. She's so sweet.

Thanks for stopping in everyone.
Have a great day.

The Sweet Shoppe

Hi Everyone
I was checking out the blog and really liked this weeks sketch MOJO 86.
I just received this weekend the new from

Mandy sent me a huge RAK of paper a while back and I'm still working on using it! {hugs Mandy}. Make sure and check out her blog. She's just stared her blog and we all know how nice and encouraging it is to get comments when we first start out. Plus....she's got some mad skills!
I've also used my new Cricut! Yippie. Ok to be honest there is just a few things I know how to do so far. I think I need to spend a weekend learning all there is to know about this amazing machine. The edge punch is from the Martha Stewart line.
Thanks so much for checking it out.

Stamps: Taylored Expressions - Downtown Diva
Ink: Memento Tuxedo
Paper: Background paper was a RAK. White card stock is PTI

Manic Monday

Hi Everyone
Hope your Monday is going well so far. For today's card I wanted to break out some new stamps I've had for a while and not had a chance to use yet. This stamp is from and her name is Agnes. is from the Ketto line of stamps. I really like these cute stamps. They have a different vibe from other stamp lines which is a nice change.
I've uses the .
I was inspired by some paper I found at Michaels the other day. It's from a company called G.C.D. It's the 12 x 12 paper stacked called Provence. You'll be seeing more of this paper during the week I think. I am really into the patterns and how well the reverse side of the patterns go together.
To accent the card I've used Stampin' Up's! Summer Sun card stock. Along with the scallop edge punch from Stampin' Up! The blue and white polka dot ribbon is from Michaels.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for your visit today.

A Day of Catching Up MoJo 85

Hi Everyone
It's been a few day's since my last post. My Friday started with Tornado sirens at 7:30 a.m. and didn't get to much better after that. After hanging out in the tornado shelter for about 3 hours I got to work with a bunch of stuff to get done. Unfortunately my weekend didn't start out to well. It rained all day Friday but Saturday was a nice sunny day so it was a good time to clean up after all the tornado damage and doing some much needed yard work. know we all have those types of weekends.
For the card today I wanted to do some sketch challenges. It's been so long and I though it would be fun to participate in a few.
This is a sketch from the MoJo Monday site. It's so much fun and a super popular challenge.
I made this card using one of the Gorjuss Girls from Set 2. She's so sassy I think. I've used Sunny Glen background paper from guessed it my favorite company The Greeting Farm.
Hope all the mothers out there had a great day!

Thinking inside the Box

Hi Everyone
In my quest to do more square cards I have two for today.
The first card is inspired by two of my fellow The Greeting Farm design team members Kadie and Randi.
I was checking out and saw with Dahlia from the Wild Sprouts with her black and purple hair and just loved it. I was later checking and saw . I recognized the paper that Kadie uses as a stack that I had and I instantly thought of using Randi's colored hair and Kadie's paper together and that's how I came up with this card of sweet but mischievous Dahlia. I've paired it with some SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock.

My second card was inspired by the super cute paper that just came out with. Love it. I've used the coordinating stamp set Lucky Bunny and created this card. I was inspired on this layout from a card I saw in TGF gallery that I can't find now. :-( So to that creative soul who create this layout here's your shout out!
I've used SU! Riding Hood Red and Tango Tangerine for the cardstock.
Have a great day everyone.

A Little More Hope and Grace with Reeta on the side

Hi Everyone
Just a few quick cards for today.
I've been trying to get out of making just the rectangle cards and branching out to square cards. I have had some square envelopes around so I thought it was the perfect time to start doing square cards. For this first card I've use Reeta from the Wild Sprouts collection. I love when Marie draws the stamps with the eyes looking down. It just calls to have eye shadow put on them. I'm always reaching for a Gelly Roll to add some bling. Now that cat...well you know me...I'm never coloring animals their proper color. So this cute little cat is blue. I just want to pick him up and pet him.
I wanted to showcase the great paper from TGF. It's super cute and I can't wait to see what else is next. This second card is using the Sunny Glen paper from TGF. It's got a nice weight to it which I like. The stamp I've used is from the Hope and Grace stamp set. I'm continuing to try to find and experiment with different shades of skin tone. Just trying to break out of just using the colors that look most like me. Caucasian with Blonde hair. Do you do that too? Make images in your likeness. I don't know maybe it's just me. Update ** The Copic I used for the Hope and Grace card is Sand E33. I didn't use any other shading color just E33.
I've still not hear a peep from the blog candy winners from last Sunday. :-( But not to worry if they don't get claimed I'll have a big blog candy giveaway that includes all those not claimed at the end of June when my design contract is up with The Greeting Farm. I've got 1 Wild West Anya already in the pot! :-)
With that to look forward to have a great Wednesday everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

Have a Happy Day

Hi Everyone
I am in love with this cute stamp set called from .
I love the chubby birds and the little song they are singing.
I've used Copics to color in the image along with some card stock from in So Saffron, Rose Red and Ballet Blue.
I use the PTI white card stock as I really like the way it takes the Copic markers. Plus it's thick enough to stand on it's own if I wanted to use it as the card base.
The little jewels are out of the dollar bin at Joanns. Gotta love the dollar bin.
I've also cut out some of the leaves on the tree to add some dimension to the card. I like the effect. One thing that I use to not like at all was cutting stuff out. Then I discovered the WOW what a difference the right tool makes. These scissors make cutting out images so much easier and such a snap.
Have a Happy Day!

Hello Kitty Day

Hi Everyone
Thanks to everyone for giving me a shout out for the blog candy. WHERE ARE THE WINNERS?
# 11 - Kelli over at
# 13 - Denise over at
# 18 - Iasona over at
If you won please email me at with your address.
I'm gearing up for TGF's release for May 15th. You won't want to miss it. When I saw the stamps that were coming out for May I was speechless. It was so hard deciding which stamps to get. Yicks!! You will really enjoy them I think.
For today I did another Desk Top Organizer. This time I used my new Cricut to get the Hello Kitty face. Super cute right? Big shout out to anyone who puts video tutorial on You Tube ! Thank you! It would have taken me months to figure out this darn Cricut otherwise. It's so great to be part of a community of people who share! :-)
So I noticed that when I set the desk top organizer from yesterday's post against the Hello Kitty one I cut the dimensions incorrectly for the Hello Kitty organizer. Funny. But what was so great was that It came to me that you can make this thing really any size. Hello...sometimes I'm a little slow. Anyway...this is made out of 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock. When I made my first cut I must have cut the wrong side of the paper and that's how it must have still come out but been a little smaller.
Anyway - Hope everyone is having a great Monday.
Thanks for stopping by.

I was checking out the PTI site and ran across another Timeless Template by Lauren Meader. I've showed the Desk Top Organizer before but wanted to try it out again with the From The Desk Of template. It was a lot of fun to put together and didn't take much time. I'm going to have to buy a bigger desk If I'm going to keep making all these desk sets!

Have a great Sunday everyone and Thanks to ALL of you who take a few minutes to come and visit my blog!

I Dream of India

Hi Everyone
I'm still in vacation mode I think. I had a great time in Mexico. It was so warm. I was hoping that I would come home to nice weather in Missouri but, unfortunately it's STILL cold and wet.
Anyway as I was thinking about last week and all the fun stuff I did in Mexico and South Padre Island in Texas I started wondering about other trips I'd like to take. India is on that list!
I'm not sure if I'll ever get the chance but I won't stop dreaming about it.
So for today's big release I wanted to do something different with the super cute . I am always thinking of India in terms of Yellow, Pink, Orange and colors of Gold.
I grabbed some India inspired background paper and some Prima flowers. I couldn't go without adding a bendi for our cute little . We don't want her looking out of place.

Lets talk BLOG CANDY
I'm super excited about the new Wild Sprout line.
I'll be giving away the Wild Sprouts, , and to three randomly selected winners. Each winner will get one of the Wild Sprout stamps.

Here are the rules...Just leave a message on this post and give me a shout out. Let me know what you think of the new stamps. That's it. No other posting just leave a comment.I can't stand the suspense of finding out who wins so I'll have the drawing open until Sunday May 3rd at 9:00 p.m. CST. I'll announce the winner shortly there after. Good Luck to everyone. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
